I've discovered what I believe are a couple of issues with the Graphical User Interface:

1.) File --> Quit  doesn't!   Need to click the x go-away-box in the upper right corner to exit the tool.

2.) Actions --> Reset Directories doesn't reset directories.

3.) Configuration tab - save doesn't save configuration changes.

4.) I see that Application Settings tab, a save wants to save to an xml file.  Was expecting a save to the database?

I've installed this tool on a shared server to allow team mates to evaluate AN.  I see other  tabs looking/saving to an xml file.  I'm guessing this is to allow different settings that are file based?  Rather than saving all the changes to the database?

Busy day today.  I can get to this in a bit...

Mike

For best service when you require assistance:

  1. Check the DisallowedAbsoluteUris and Exceptions tables first.
  2. Cut and paste actual exceptions from the Exceptions table.
  3. Include screenshots.

1.) OK, fixed.

2.) OK, fixed.

3.) I can probably address this tomorrow.

4.) Right.  The saving to .xml is akin to overriding database settings in the C# code.

Watch for a check-in tomorrow.

Mike

[EDIT:] I removed the buttons for Saving/Restoring the DB settings.  These settings should only set in the DB, with care, once you know what you are doing and there isn't any reason to change, for example, the types of data you are downloading once you have your crawl configuration set.  FWIW, you probably will have a better match for your business requirements using the Service or an implementation of the Console.  Check-in committed.
